The Conversation from Geeta Gandbhir.
The Conversation is the first in a series of films about how we discuss race in America.
This first episode was directed by Geeta Gandbhir and Blair Foster, and features parents of black children discussing their experiences with "the talk." A shortened version of The Conversation was featured on the New York Times website as a part of their Op-Doc series. It was also featured as a part of the PBS NewsHour, and screened before feature presentations at the IFC Center in New York City as part of their Short Attention Span Cinema program.
The Conversation won the Audience Award for Best Short at the 2015 AFI DOCS Festival. It also won a 2016 ONA Online Journalism Award.
