Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown Excerpt from Alex Keipper.

This is an excerpt from the feature length documentary Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown, produced by Jigsaw Productions and Jagged Films for HBO.

Directed by Alex Gibney, the film tracks James Brown's music and politics from his early years through his hay day. It had a work in progress screening at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival before premiering on HBO in October of the same year.

In 2015, Mr. Dynamite won a Peabody Award as well as a Black Reel Award for Best Television Documentary. It was also nominated for a Grammy and an NAACP Image Award.
